It's a great deal and a fun lunch spot to go to with a group of coworkers. Their lunch special is $7.95, cheaper than most rolls at Publix nowadays, and their selection is big but not to the point that I question the freshness of the food. Is it wonderful sushi? No, of course not. This town is flooded with amazing sushi such as Amura's and Sushi Lola's among others. Is it the best hibachi? I don't think so, I prefer Tokyo Japanese Sushi Bar and Grill on Chickasaw and Lee Vista in southeast Orlando. Is it way cheaper than either one and a place to get both at the same time? Absolutely. I like to get a few of their fried sushi rolls, a couple of pieces of salmon and yellow tail nigiri, and, if they have a fresh roll with fish inside (they seem to cut corners a little with veggie rolls topped with imitation crab or something similar), a few pieces of sushi. If the selection is good I stick with the sushi, otherwise I make a small plate for the hibachi grill which is cooked nice and not completely smothered in salt. The selection for the grill is good, too, with cabbage, bok choy, onions, carrots, broccoli, rice, noodles, mushrooms, etc, and the main meats (chicken, beef, pork, shrimp). The entrees offered on the other side of the bar include New York Chinese favorites like General Tso's chicken, sweet and sour, egg foo young, and the normal accompaniments: sweet buns, spring rolls, rangoon, egg rolls, chinese doughnuts, fruit, pastries, and ice cream. There is not one dish that really makes Koy Wan stand out as phenomenal but in the market of cheap Asian buffets it absolutely dominates.

Do not eat here. My husband I went to it last week on a Thursday night and our first impression when we walked in was good. However after visiting the buffet it became obvious that the food was not being refreshed. Also the restaurant was way too warm. We started to see that they were cutting corners - if that was what we old see and feel- we worried where they cut that we could not see. After taking a few bites of sushi and realizing it was too warm and had a funny taste -we got the feeling that the food was going to make us sick and decided to leave. We asked for a discount because we didn't really eat and all they offered was 20% which is ridiculous. We should have just walked out - it was that bad. Sure enough my husband got sick on the way home and spent the rest of the night in the bathroom.

This buffet in my opinion isn't the Best Buffet in the entire world because every buffet do have a flaw such as cold food that has been left out for to long ( that can't be solved yet from experience). But from the area I am from and how much my family loves buffets I believe this buffet top every Chinese buffet I have been to. First of all the interior is very beautiful and nicely decorated. The way the food was displayed made it very attracting and the way the stations are set up allows the chefs/cooks to check on it constantly to replace food. What makes this buffet different from the other buffets I've been to is that when you first come in the atmosphere is quite marvelous. The music is very soothing and unlike other buffets this buffet doesn't have a weird smell. Just a nice refreshing smell. I tried mostly everything the buffet had to offer and lets say I am very satisfied to have visit this place. The way they cook the food taste way better than the other buffets in Orlando. What I really like about this buffet is that they provided a large variety of sushi. Not only did they have nigiri but they also had the raw sushi and specialties. Did I mention FRIED Sushi!!!! Other buffets would have a small section with raw and California rolls but Koywan have a huge variety of them. I would definitely revisit this place again and if you are looking for a good Buffet and not impress with the other Chinese Buffets in Orlando. This is a must try and cheap!

This was awesome! There was something for everyone and I can finally say I am full from sushi. Their sushi is good, their hibachi is great, and extras like salad bar, boiled shrimp, and Chinese/Japanese cuisine are good too. We were let down a little by the hot and sour soup. Stick to the traditional desserts served here as they are good. The service was really nice and kept my glass of sweat tea filled, which is a major accomplishment. There is no way to eat some of everything in one visit. HUGE value for this amount of food! We are pescetarians, which basically vegetarians who consume fish too, so I can't speak for the meat there, but others eating with us were complimentary of it. PS, there are chicken nuggets for kids who are wary of the sushi.

I like the food and the selection between the Chinese, the Hibachi and the Sushi. The price is not bad. So what's the problem? My wife refuses to return ( after 2 visits) because the place is disgustingly dirty and moldy smelling in the back room. I didn't notice till she pointed it out to me. Yup, she was right.

Well, it's a buffet, so you'd think the quality of the food would be pretty Meh, but this was a really pleasant surprise in many ways. A sushi bar with fresh, well-cut sushi greets you as soon as you come in (as much as you want!), plus hibachi and many assorted hot/cold plates. Kimchi, mussels, coconut shrimp, green tea ice cream adorn the massive snaking line of buffet magic. Woohoo! Sound familiar? I had thought the old Crazy Buffet had closed its doors foreverrrrr (cue Ozzy/fog machine/Lita Ford's hair blowing dramatically in the breeze), and that made me very sad. Lo and behold, not only is it still open, but aside from a name change, it's pretty much exactly the same as I remember it. This is a good thing. I didn't order anything to drink, so my bill came out to about $11. Eleven. Dollars. For plates and plates of fresh sushi and rolls and a little cup of something that may have been mint cool whip. Go check it out. It's worth the drive, and say hi to the numerous fat, happy koi fish on the way out.

Come here at your own risk. This place is NASTY. The food is gross. The meat is unidentifiable and honestly when I looked at the chicken that I took a bite out of, all I saw was a weird gelatinous substance rather than chicken. The food is cliché and oozing grease. The actual building is so dirty. The bathrooms are easily the grossest I've ever been to in a restaurant. The log said it hadn't been cleaned in more than a week, and once we brought it (kindly) to the attention of the staff like a sign said to, they rudely told us that we didn't know what we were talking about and resumed chattering loudly in Chinese. The plates and flatware looked like they were barely cleaned. I honestly have never felt more uncomfortable in a restaurant. Plus, one of the waitresses had a very obvious and very gross whooping cough (as in the kind that people get hospitalized for) and she kept coughing loudly ALL OVER THE PLACE. I'm horrified. The hibachi was okay though, so if you choose to sacrifice your cleanliness and come here, get that- just check the bins of meat and vegetables to make sure they're cold and fresh first.

The price is better than previous resident Crazy Buffet but the food was disappointing. I was expecting more after reading the reviews. I don't normally try the hibachi at these buffets so I can't speak of that but the sushi was so/so. Most of the rolls were variations on the california roll with a few salmon & eel rolls thrown in for good measure. I'd grade the rolls a little below supermarket grade. The sushi chefs said there were no tuna rolls but did cut up some sashimi upon request and that was very good. On the chinese buffet side we liked the mussels, green beans & bbq chicken. Unfortunately the steamed buns were underdone & the yakitori chicken was overcooked & dry. Everything else was mediocre at best.

#1. If you are looking for a Chinese buffet, this is your place! Worth the trip. It is located in the Kohls shopping plaza. Koy Wan is located where Crazy Buffet use to be in fact, it is exactly the same as Crazy was. Nothing has changed except the price, which is lower!!! YES, I said LOWER. Lunch with beverage will set you back $10.12 tax included and Dinner only $13 and change, beverage included. Four main features of KOY WAN are: Decor, sushi, hibachi, and the buffet. The place looks like a high end restaurant so its nice enough to bring a date, yet casual enough for flip flops. They feature about 20 different sushi rolls at dinner (less at lunch time). The Hibachi grill - retarded! Anything you can think of and cooked right in front of you while you wait. The buffet is awesome. I have been twice and everything is kept fresh an hot. I have yet to find any dried out beef or meat on the line. They have sweet steamed rolls on the line as well. Included in the dinner price is SNOW Crab and Blue crab -all you can eat! The dessert bar was a disappointment, though there wont be much room for it by the time you are done with the buffet. Do yourself a favor and check this place out if you are looking for a Chinese buffet.

This place consistently has the best buffet food in the city. Fresh sushi, hibachi grill, all of it is amazing.

Been many times but each time service, cleanliness and quality continue to decline however i have often overlooked its short comings but after Returning for dinner tonight and restaurant had added an additional 3 dollars to buffet. When asked why was told special valentines day item on Buffett including lobster. However after walking around buffet was exactly same as any other night. Yes. Lobster was on Buffett but it was hacked into small greasy pieces its actual origin still unclear. This was an obvious price gouge to loyal customers and a cheap way to make extra money. I talked to manger but after Much persuasion he gave a ten percent discount however that didn't erase the feeling of being cheated. Will no longer return or recommend this restaurant. Most likely will be closed in few months.

Best buffet for your money! They have a wide selection of sushi, and it's good too. Usually, I stray away from buffet sushi because the idea of it kind of grosses me out, but it actually tasted very fresh and delicious. The hibachi grill is also a nice addition and probably my favorite part of the place. They have a variety of ingredients (meats, seafood, vegetables..etc) that you get to choose from and it was all cooked very fast. The buffet selection itself did not disappoint either. I tried almost everything and it was all very tasty. I'll definitely be returning in the near future, and the best part is that it doesn't leave my wallet crying!

This place was above and beyond my expectation. The sushi was fresh and tasty, but the best part by far was the Hibachi bar. You can pick every ingredient you want, hand it to the friendly Hibachi chef, pick your sauces, and in a few minutes you have some awesome tasting stir fry.

Same look, location, and variety of food as previous buffets, just with a new name. It was super busy on a Saturday night and there was even a wait for a table! Koywan has your usual buffet food but the taste and quality was nothing to brag about. One thing that I did like, however, was that they had blue crabs, both steamed and sauteed. Service was good but the lack of quality and flavor will probably not bring me back anytime soon.

Koy Wan Hibachi Buffet 945 W SR 436 Suite 1179 Altamonte Springs, Florida 407-628-8866 Five adults and a child were in the mood for sushi and oriental food, and made the trek to Altamonte Springs to visit the buffet. As a professional reviewer I don't normally evaluate buffets because selection of food can make such a large difference in how the buffet is perceived, but in this case, I was compelled to write a review. We were promptly seated at a large round table, and assorted soft drinks and tea were quickly brought. Then it was time for all to attack the buffet. Most of the time buffets are mediocre food, some of which is either too cold or not hot enough. This was completely different. Most of us started off at the sushi bar. To be honest, I wasn't expecting anything like the sushi I've had in Japan, but I was hoping for some good flavor, and I wasn't disappointed. Lots of tasty varieties to choose from, including Unagi (fresh water eel) and Tako (octopus) In fairness, this won't be the sushi you will get in the typical sushi bar, in that these will not be, in general, prime cuts of fish, but tasty, none the less. The marinated squid was excellent and had good spice to it. I opted to skip the "Hibachi Buffet", but noted a huge assortment of meats and veggies available to be cooked to order on the teppan Next, I went to the cold part of the buffet. Beautiful tender New Zealand Mussels nicely seasoned, followed by Spicy Crayfish that were delicious to suck the juice out of. There were many other cold foods to choose from, but I had to save room to try the hot food. One of the highlights of the hot food group was the Spicy Blue Crabs. Simply wonderful to eat, and totally unexpected on a buffet. I also had the opportunity to have Deep Fried Frogs Legs, Spicy Hot Cray Fish, and lovely Manila Clams that were wonderfully tender. Other items on the buffet included General Tso's Chicken, Salt and Pepper Shrimp, assorted Steamed Fishes, and tasty Pork Tenderloin. There was also a nice selection of assorted Chinese Steam Buns. For those who wish, there was an assortment of soups also available including Hot and Sour Soup, and Chicken Egg Drop Soup as well as the ubiquitous Won Ton Soup. If you are hearty enough to tackle it after grazing your way through the buffet, there is a whole other selection of desserts to pick from! I've eaten at buffet's before just to fill up, but this one not only was filling, but very tasty as well, to say nothing about some of the wonderful surprises on the serving line. Sanitation was very good, and the bathroom was spotlessly clean. 4 stars for cleanliness, creativity. assortment of foods, and excellent flavor.

As you might expect, buffets don't offer the same quality as a comparable sit down Chinese restaurant. However, rating this strictly as a buffet, it has an extremely large assortment of food. I have eaten here many times and have always had warm well seasoned food. The suchi assortment is quite large and it's constantly being refreshed and is included in the price. If you don't want to make selections from the buffet they have a hibachi grill with a large selection of meats and vegetables. Went there on my birthday and the meal was free, normally $7.99 for lunch, had five friends with me and one of them collected the money from the other four, paid the bill and got a coupon for a free future lunch. Finally their salad and dessert selections are quite large. My one complaint was that even though they have six different ice creams, the descriptions on the wall didn't come close to matching what was in the freezer.

This place is located at the old Crazy Buffet location. I went in a little skeptical since I do not normally like buffett joints. I left sure to be back again. They have a huge selection of Sushi, Chinese fare and cooked to order Hibachi. The hibachi selection includes a variety of meats and seafood, vegetables and noodles and sauces. I was impressed at the variety since many other hibachi/mongolian BBQ places are pretty limited to meat, broccoli and noodles. I don't know a whole lot about sushi, so I can't quote on any of the names of the rolls, but I had 4 different types, all of which were fresh and tasty. They even had sushi rolls that were fruit based which was quite interesting. I like that they are not hiding in a back kitchen somewhere and you can see them preparing the sushi and placing it on the buffett. The hot food selections were pretty wide in variety as well. There were even some "american" dishes to please the picky eaters in the crowd. The kids were able to get chicken and pasta and stay happy, while the adults had a hard time narrowing down their choices. The dessert selection was a little lackluster, but I wasn't there for a mini-cupcake or ice cream so it didn't take away from the experience. All in all it was one of the best buffett places I have ever stepped inside of. I'll go back again and be happy to do so. Tip- go for lunch. Prices and much lower and you get essentially the same selection. We paid $9 for the adults on a late Sunday afternoon and ended up skipping dinner so it was a great deal.

Great food and extensive selection of Asian cuisine.. Sushi selection is great idea say about 10 - 15 different kind.. I would highly recommend this place.. As I already do to my friends.

On principal, I can't give a buffet outside Vegas 5 stars. But Koy Wan is damn good. Far nicer ambiance than I expected from a place that seats 450 and charges just over $10 for sushi, hibachi and a full spread of asian food at dinner time. I'm not even sure where to start so I'll have to update this review when I return (and I will *definitely* return). Since there is one very negative review dealing with the service, I have to say that we had excellent service the whole time we were there.

Been here for lunch and they are okay but I guess they cannot handle a big group. Made a reservation for 20+ people and called them to confirm that we're running a bit late which you think will give them time to set the table and all that but only to get there and found out that not only that they are not set up for us( which is the point of reservation) and when they finally did after waiting 15+ mins they separated my whole group into 3 tables. And when I ask them why they separated the group the manager said they can't hold 20+ people at that time. But it is so easy to set a long table they just don't know how to do their basic math of counting and at that time the section where we at is empty. Servers are good at least. I'll go for lunch but holding a big group is another though for the price it's really reasonable

we were out and about and saw a sign for this place, we decided to to give the place a shot (we live on the edge - lol) the decor is appealing in this place, the table/room dividers are effective to reduce the feeling of dining in a warehouse the presentation of food was well done, lots of choices (cold/hot dishes, chinese, japanese, korean, salads deserts, sushi etc) the food stations were closely monitored, (spills cleaned, refreshing dishes etc) the sushi was creatively prepared and presented. we would try this place again

Service here is mehhhh which is why I gave it 3 stars instead of 4. But you can't beat the price for dinner. $10.95 for all you can eat hibachi, sushi/sashimi, random asian food, and dessert? It's crazy how they can survive on this price for dinner when the restaurant is huge and they serve a lot of food. I wonder how much the overheard costs are because just running the restaurant alone seems very costly especially for the price of food nowadays. Anyhow, i'm glad there's a place like this because when I feel like eating a bunch of sashimi and sushi I just go here because it's so worth it.

    (3)
  • Wendy V.

Good value and selection for the price, food-wise it's probably the best asian buffet I've tried in the area. The decor and layout are also nicely done. I would only give this an average rating however due to the poor waitress service, very unclean dining area, and many missing labels on buffet items.

I SO loved this place... and like others, before getting there, I was WAY hesitant on sushi roles... but I'm SO planning to go back. For a meal for a teen and adult, I would say $30 is a bit pricey for 2 dinners... but considering that's WAY cheaper than my fav sushi restaurant, I would say that it's a great deal. And it's nice to feed a finicky teenage boy - where he can try new foods to see what he likes... other than eating the fast food burger/fries. I went on a Friday night and it was super busy with large groups... so had to swerve with plated food around kids running around. It seemed that these groups didn't have a sense that they were in a public place... but that's the only issue I had with this restaurant. The staff was super friendly and very attentive with drink refills and cleaning plates... even when the front desk/manager entertained my teen... he was VERY funny and gave coy food for us to feed the fish. VERY pleasantly surprised... will definitely go back. But this time, we're going to bring stretchy pants. ;)

Koywan Hibachi Buffet is the new occupant of the space where Crazy Buffet used to be. Thankfully not only is Koywan better, it's half the price of what Crazy Buffet charged. They have done little to the decor of the place but it looks nice and is always clean. They have plenty of room and great booths that give you a private dining experience, unlike most buffets where it seems like a free-for-all. The food is typical buffet food, they have a wide selection of dishes. Some great some not so great. They also have a huge selection of sushi, none that I like however. You can tell they don't use quality fresh ingredient. for their sushi but hey it's a buffet. The real reason why we come here is for the hibachi. I love loading up my plate with veggies and noodles for the hibachi. I don't like their dessert selection or fruit selection. The soft-serve machine has always been 'out of service'. It's only $10 per person (adult) and the hibachi alone is worth that much. So I really just look at the huge buffet food options and sushi as a bonus to the hibachi. The service is always great, they give bottled water for free as well. If you're looking for somewhere inexpensive to load up on decent food this is the place to go.

Surprised at all of the great reviews for this place. Probably have been here 3 or 4 times in the past few years and we have finally decided not to go back again. Not much has changed here except for their name. Their sushi is terrible and tasteless - some even have bright pink or blue food coloring in the sauce. Not appetizing. :-O Their other food is okay but most of it makes me feel weary of getting food poisoning. Less fancy looking Chinese buffets elsewhere in town have food that tastes a lot better and seem fresher,

I visited Koy Wan Hibachi Buffet for lunch and found the food to be good as well as the variety. The place looked very nice. Based on my initial experience, I decided to return and bring my sons. I arrived at 3:45PM, still in time for lunch, since the hostess had informed me they had lunch til 4:00PM. When I arrived, the hostess told me they were serving dinner!!, which is $3 more per person. I asked him at what time I should have arrived to get the lunch price and he said 3:00PM. I told him they should change their advertised times and left. I might return. Hopefully by then, they will have learned to treat customers better.

I've experienced a lot better. Publix has better sushi. My expectations were high since it was recommended by a lot of people but it felt like a golden corral for japanese food. There is a lot of food and the hibachi is good. But I went for the sushi and it just wasn't up to par. Didn't have a lot of the interaction with the staff. Kinda felt like we were seated and left to our own devices.

Agreeing with others it is wrong they offer money for 5 dollars off your next meal. This is not a 5 star restaurant, yes the food is good, but the past 3 times I've been here the AC doesn't work right and the building is warm. Very uncomfortable to eat when it's warm. Service is ok,depends on who your waiter is,I've been times where the waiters are sitting gossiping and I have to wait 20 minutes to get a refill, then I've had times where I'm waited on constantly. Overall it's a good place to go as a casual restaurant.

I went with my family and another family on Saturday evening. The food was great. The choice of sushi was excellent. And Hibachi was fast and delicious. There were wide choice of Chinese food including many seafood. (craps, shrimp, craw fish, etc...) The food taste very good for a buffet. The price was the best part. 8 of us (including 2 kids) ate and the bill was $84 and change. We order water and they gave us bottled water. I thought they were going to charge for them, but they did not. My favorite are their sushi (try one of each and you will be full) and the hibachi grill. I would definitely go back. I hope they keep the price the same. Oh by the way, I used to go to the same restaurant under another ownership. (crazy asian buffet) The food is virtually the same, but they used to charge $25 per person...

You know the way this works, and yet you fall for it over and over again. This is how I feel every time I visit an Asian buffet. With my expectations set to average, I entered, and for the most part, these expectations were met. I will note that I am not a sushi fan, and do hear that for the price, this sushi is decent and plentiful. As for the buffet itself, it is exactly as you would expect. Ten different variations of chicken that all taste almost identical, several seafood dishes, noodles, rice, etc. Most of it was at least warm and seemed fresh, but the further back you went, the less fresh the food seemed to get. They had a kid area with pizza that appeared to be there from the day prior. They also do a make your own hibachi style, and the selections there seem to be the star of the show. They had all sorts of meats, and plentiful vegetables. If only they could step out of the box a bit and put something other than spaghetti noodles to go with it. As for dessert, there are the always good fried donuts, and varieties of puddings and jello. Just don't go near the ice cream in the back. The self serve machine is broken (and appears to have been broken long ago). They have a freezer with several varieties of ice cream you can scoop yourself, and a scoop sitting in absolutely disgusting looking water. A sign above it tells you that only employees are allowed to scoop ice cream out, but employees never go back there, so its a germ fiesta. Overall, you do get a huge selection, but when you start to boil it down to what is really out there to pick from, it isn't overly as impressive as it would appear.

Koy wan buffet was okay. Let me explain: I'll start off by saying I know Chinese buffets are mostly all the same, and now I'm convinced that they pretty much are. so... from the beginning I wasn't really expecting to be blown away. The atmosphere of this buffet was pretty intense. In a good way. It felt like I was in a Japanese steakhouse or something. Fountains and shit. The sushi was good. There was a pretty decent variety to choose from and it tasted fresh like sushi should taste. So there's that.... but I wouldn't come here just to only eat sushi. Meh... There were a lot of dishes to choose from as far as the buffet part was concerned. Just your typical Chinese buffet items. General tso's chicken blah blah blah. I was really disappointed that there were no descriptions of the dishes because some things were slightly unidentifiable, and as a vegetarian that was difficult, but... it doesn't matter anyway because there were barely any vegetarian options at all. I found this out because I grabbed a few things that were seemingly vegetarian sounding (fried sesame ball. Peach bun) and to my surprise there was meat stuffed into these things which I then had to spit out of my mouth back onto my plate. Oh well. I regret not getting the hibachi dudes to cook for me. Had I done that I may have had a better experience. There were a lot of veggies there and I have no idea why I just didn't do that. If you're not a meat Eater the sushi bar and hibachi station is probably your best bet. I had green tea ice cream for dessert. It was delicious. Overall not that bad. If you eat meat and seafood you'll be fine. If you don't ...be wary. I dunno if I'll ever be in the position to go back to this place. I don't care either.

Stopped at Koy Wan for dinner after a long day at Wekiwa Springs. Large assortment of hot foods, sushi, and Mongolian buffet. Clean, quick, good selection, reasonably priced...pretty much what you would want from a buffet.

I love this place despite some resolved health code violations. It would get five stars if they can keep up the maintenance. The koi pond is cute and the kids love to feed them. The buffet is huge and offers something for everyone. I love the teriyaki grill were you can have a chef prepare your stir fry of veggies, meats and seafood to your taste. The hot and sour soup is yummy. The kids love the american food options when they are not in an adventurous mood. The wine by the glass is cheap and tastes pretty good. The desserts are plentiful and delicious. I would definitely go back.

Dirty and dated, feels like you're entering 1992 when you walk in. The sushi looked scary. Our hostess looked she was ready for a nightclub in a tiny miniskirt and tank top. Our server was horrible, not friendly and we never got our drinks refilled. The part that weirded me out the most was the sign in the stall of the women's restroom: "Please do not flush sanitary napkins or toilet paper in the toilet." The sanitary napkins I get, but toilet paper... what am I supposed to do with it?!? Gross! I do not recommend this place at all.

Such good food!!! I haven't gotten the hibachi yet because I'm too busy filling up on sushi and other seafood options. But all the ingredients at the hibachi look fresh! I think I've tried pretty much every type of roll they have put out and I like them all. Of course I like some better than others :) For all you can eat, still good quality and they make the sushi right in front of you. There is also a salad bar and full Chinese buffet with tons of options, fresh fruit even! Lots of types of desserts and ice cream/sundae station! For dinner AYCE it's about $12, so if you are pretty hungry this is a great option!

My family LOVED this buffet UNTIL......... Food poisoning.... THE FISH WAS NO GOOD! Considering the different owners, We have been going to this location for years. The quality now is pitiful and Unless you want to get extremely sick from food that has been lying around for God knows how long... I would suggest going elsewhere.

I rarely go out to eat at buffets, all of my past memories of ''all you can eat'' dining have been scarred with my mom urging me eat my weight in mountains of seafood. ''You know how expensive X,Y,Z is?? Comon! You need to enjoy while you can!'' Oh. . . the good days, the only thing saving me from exploding was my logical father. whew. Anyways, enough with the memory lane. . today I went out with a couple of friends tonight just to see how it would be like . When first walking in you can ''smell'' that aroma of BUFFET. I swear, if Harry potter ever made a new jelly bean exclusive packet, ''Buffet'' should be a well qualified candidate. It's quite indescribable. . You don't pay up front, the host brings you to your table and asks for drinks. I BELIEVE the drinks are refillable (my friend's sweet tea was) so I'm amusing the soft drinks are as well. After settling down a bit, I ventured off into the world of limitless food. Okay, so let's first talk about how the buffet is set up. If you're coming out from the dining area, all the way to your LEFT is where they serve dessert and fruit. Middle section is cooked Asian food+ soups and seafood, and to the RIGHT is the salad bar+ sushi bar (far right.) On the back wall is the hibachi station. This review will be broken down into the three sections based on the foods I tried. . so let's go! (Did not try hibachi) Sushi Bar: Most people are interested in this part of the buffet (plus the hibachi) and I of course happen to be one of those peeps! I don't consider myself a ''sushi snob'' like some, but I do know my way around sushi. First, the variations of maki were good. You have: Shrimp tempura roll, cucumber roll, philly roll, cali roll, DEEP FRIED (omgosh heart attk) rolls, dragon roll, rainbow rolls, and a few more. Then you have sashimi (or more like hawaii Poke style): maguro (tuna), sake (salmon) followed by sushi (nigiri) : sake, maguro, hirame (looks like tilapia), ebi (shrimp), inari, krab stick and avocado. As you can see, you DO GET a good choice selection to try from, it's not like a ''cucumber, krab meat station'' The quality of fish is matched to that of your chained places like ''bentos, sushiology, sus-hi'' it's bearable but not fresh and far from absolutely melt in your mouth. The maki were nice as well, tightly rolled and not falling apart. Some rolls were obviously neglected from gooers attracted by deep fried things, so those rolls developed a crusty rice ring naturally. . .(they sooner or later changes it out if it gets too bad) I like the shrimp nirigi and rainbow roll. My cousin told me he couldn't eat the deep fried rolls (they deep fry the entire piece!) because it tasted stale. . but that's understandable. There's a HEAP TONS of wakame (seaweed salad) in the salad bar station and it's super yummy!!! Cooked foods+ seafood: Mussels and clams were good, oysters were . . . yeahh no. Crawfishes: rubbery and baddd. Shrimps were good as well. The veggies and meat looked cleaned and worth eating. I wasn't really interested in the cooked foods more-so the sushi bar so . . I can't really put my two cent here. My cousin ate tons of fried oysters and chicken wings and thought it was okay. Hibachi grill: TONS of veggies and meats to pick from. . . !!! Lots of people at the table ordered this dish and seemed to like it (they all finished it.) Dessert& Fruit: They had a pretty good range of ice cream mixes, from the classic chocolate to green tea and mint chocolate.. Being the green tea snob I am, I went for the matcha flavored one. Guys, don't be tempted. . this is by far the worse Matcha ice cream I have ever tasted. I only tell you this because I don't want you to get a snoop and waste it while you could be eating maybe something more enjoyable like mint chocolate (which was pretty decent.) The Matcha had a peppery note to it and was VERY milky flavored . Did not taste like green ice at all!! They had cakes and brownies set up, but I'm not a pretty lean diet so I stayed far away from those guys. I gladly indulged in the fresh cut fruit which ranged from: watermelon, catalope, honey dew, kiwi fruit, grapes, canned fruits and jelly+ pudding was there as well of course. All the fruits were good tasting and sweet, except for the grapes. . those were bitter as the witch in snow white! All in all, my theory of quantity vs quality is well justified. Good place to to go if you have like a need of sushi craving+ super hungry. The rolls will fill your moneys worth! Will I be back? Maybe . . . to eat all the fruits up! (except for the grapes)

This buffet has it all! Their typical buffet line items are pretty good. Peanut chicken was amazing, egg rolls are great! I went for lunch, for $7.95 you get access to the build your own hibachi bar, including chicken, beef, shrimp, bean sprouts, onions, peppers, jalapenos, cabbage, LOTS of choices! Sushi is also included, which is all very good. They're heavy on cream cheese choices since they're the crowd pleasers but they also have many other rolls as well as nigiri choices as well. The service was great and everyone was very friendly, amazing value for the price!

I had been to this location when it was known as the VariAsian buffet and had not wanted to return due to the price and lackluster food. I'm happy to report that a new name, new owner and new surprisingly lower prices have resulted in a great improvement. The buffet is clean, the atmosphere is pleasant, and the food is on the top of my list for asian buffets in the Orlando/Altamonte area. It's well worth the $12 dinner price for the sushi alone. Buffet sushi is a scary world, but Koi Wan did not disappoint. I was there on a somewhat busy Friday night and I was surprised by the plethora of rolls, many with more complex combinations and ingredients. Not your standard california, vegetable, cucumber, and "hey, is that maybe some raw tuna in there?" rolls. There were some tempura rolls, a trio of masago-topped krab rolls, several iterations on the spicy (insert name of fish here) rolls, and a good amount of fish and veggie combinations. They also had nigiri and sashimi on the bar, which isn't as common at AYCEs. Main point here: great variety and very fresh, not scary at all. I didn't actually get hibachi, but the long row of raw ingredients looked fantastic. Lots of variety so picky eaters can really get what they want. There is also a very extensive cold salad bar and dessert bar that I skipped, but they both looked equally impressive and fresh. The hot bar starts with soups and ends with larger grilled items in a long U shape. There's plenty of the standards - chicken in various sauces, fried stuff, etc. but also some less common items like peanut chicken, kalbi short ribs, and whole blue crabs. Yep, whole crabs. Also they have oysters on the half-shell which isn't always a common sight. Everything was fresh, tasty, and didn't have that "sitting here forever" taste. All in all, it was a great experience and well worth my drive from downtown Orlando when I'm craving endless sushi. This is my new go-to place for when I really want sushi in mass quantities and aren't in the mood for any particular item.

Went here a few months ago for a friend's birthday. I was quite impressed by the variety and the quality of food for an asian buffet, especially with the sushi. I think i ate my weight in sushi that night. I especially like that they used shiso in some of their rolls. Also their prices are reasonable, so they don't break the bank. But be care... as with any buffet it is very easy to overeat. So pace yourself and enjoy :)

How do you spell disgusting in Chinese? that's how. Now why am I saying this? The hot food (lunch time) was mediocre at best. The sushi was about average. Not the best sushi and not the worst. What really put me over the edge in this restaurant is it smells so gross. The carpet is stained beyond traditional steam cleaning. The odor is borderline toxic. I'd give this place a second chance if they'd clean up their act and "clear" the air!

I do not get out to the Altamonte Springs area that often since I live in Orlando. Since I was in the area around dinner time, I decided to stop in here for the first time. I was never here when it was Crazy Buffet, and seeing that it had a new name, I was hesitant at first. But since I am here, let's check it out anyway. I am glad I did. Upon entering, the restaurant has a relaxed color and lighting scheme, as well as a fountain to the left as you enter. There are several rooms for dining, and the walls are a light green. The trim and tables are a dark wood. After a hostess took me to my table and asked what beverage I would like, I proceeded to the buffet. Like I said, this was my first visit here. So I had to walk around the buffet to become familiar with what was where. The cooks behind the hibachi grill were probably watching me with amusement while I walked around with a dumb look on my face. "Yeah. This guy doesn't know what the **** he's doing!" Anyway.... I found the appetizers and soups. The egg rolls were delicious and the won ton soup was good. Then it was over to the sushi counter! This is not the best sushi, but is is the best I had for a buffet. And there was sashimi available as well. I had a few pieces of the spicy tuna and the rainbow roll, along with some maguro (tuna), sake(salmon), and ebi(shrimp). All were as fresh as can be for buffet, and only one piece of sushi fell apart on me. It was really good. For the main course, I had a chicken and broccoli that was good. I also had to help myself to some more egg rolls and fried dumplings, as well as some barbecues ribs. For dessert, I tried a few pieces of their cakes along with some fresh fruit (honey dew, cantaloupe, and pineapple). Of the cakes, there was this chocolate cake with espresso that was really good. I did not have any room for it, but there is ice cream available. Even a green tea ice cream. If you have never had green tea ice cream, try it ! It is very refreshing, especially on a hot day. The buffet area, the dining room, and the bathrooms were clean. And tables were cleared immediately after diners left. My only complaint was seating. The hostess gave me a table that was against the wall, which was no problem. Upon returning from the buffet, however, the hostess was seating a party of four next to me. While there were several tables available in the dining rooms. They decided to sit somewhere else and went to another dining room. As I was eating, the hostess comes into the dining room and proceeds to seat someone at the small table next to me. There are several tables throughout the restaurant! What do you think I need? A dining buddy?! With beverage (soda) and tax, the cost for the buffet came up to $15.77. Not bad. I would not drive out of my way to get here. But if I am in the area again, I would consider coming here again to try a few dishes I didn't try on my first visit.

You can't beat the value of this place. My husband and I love to eat off the sushi bar and habachi, then finish off with a scope of ice cream. My little one chows down on steam clams, mussels, seaweed salad, and wash it all down w miso soup. Great place for a quick bite!

So annoyed with this place. The food was cold. I checked in using Yelp and was supposed to get a free kids buffet but they they charged me for my 2 year old so the coupon didn't even matter. The bathroom was dirty. And it's expensive!! For $15 more we could have gone to Kobe's!! We will NOT be returning.

I enjoy buffets, or as one of my friend's says, Boo-fetes. This place was no exception. There is a great selection, from sushi, to hibachi, a raw bar, regular food, salads, fruits, soups and desserts. As with any buffets, some of the items were icky, but overall, most of the food is quite yummy. However, the ambiance was pretty awkward. The place is HUGE! Plenty of seating, but besides my brother and I, there were probably only...6 other people there (who weren't servers/hostesses/chefs). I'm pretty sure it had to do with the fact we went on a Monday during the latter part of lunch. Great service with the refilling of our drinks in addition to that, the habachi was quick (but then again, we were 25% of the business during the time). My brother and I got a discount because we were students, on top of the inexpensive meal, so that was pretty awesome. Overall, I had a good time. A little awkward, but maybe it's better on a different day...and time.

Best suchi buffet in the city. Everything is fresh and tasty. Their hibachi cooks are awesome and will make your plate exactly how you want it. I love the food here, and at lunch time it's very affordable.

I can still vividly recall eating here last month. I was seriously food poisoned so bad that I was on the floor fetal position in agony holding my stomach. I had the runs and vomit everywhere all night long. It was a severe case of food poison I ever experienced. Steer away!!! Especially kids and elderly or if you have a weak stomach. :(

Great selection of food. Usually just feast on the hibachi items and sushi, don't get too excited about the rest. Sushi is fresh and they carry a pretty large assortment. Price is a bit higher than other comparable buffets but the quality seems better.

It's ok if you stick to the old standby dishes like chicken and broccoli or sweet n sour. However, there's some weird stuff on the buffet, weird pale colored balls with yellow in the center...or peach. I got one and poked at it for a while, it smelled weird, and then just left it on the dish until the server took it away. So, I asked what it was and apparently it was rice and egg. The place was packed full of people too. I then discovered where the whole city goes for dinner! I liked it when it was the Crazy Buffet when it first opened years back. I might go back if I must have Chinese food, but it's not going to be a staple.

I am not a fan of the Chinese buffets here. They're usually fried mass amounts of MSG-laced food. I decided to do a little researching and found Koy Wan Hibachi Buffet. The prices here are comparable to other Chinese buffets but with more sushi selection. This is not a Japanese buffet, you're not going to find pork katsu or udon noodles here. The interior is Asian themed with a water fountain. The buffet tables are spread out. Big spacious dining area, The sushi selection was diverse and I ended up trying most of the items. And of course I got seaweed salad. That stuff is just addictive! As far as the sushi goes, I'll be honest. I'm not some super huge sushi fanatic. It was fine, it had a good variety and it worked for me. As far as the quality goes, I'd rate it higher than average for a buffet. On the same token, I would not parallel this to the quality of an actual sushi restaurant. The hibachi station has a good selection. It is called Koy Wan Hibachi Buffet after all. This is the best selection for hibachi that I've seen in the Orlando area thus far. I made my noddle dish with onions, mushrooms, napa cabbage, zuchinni, shrimp and beef. Koy Wan has a ginger sauce and that "special" white sauce on the side to go along with it. That was truly really good. Honestly, this alone is worth the price of the buffet. I love oysters but I really dislike the raw oysters at Chinese Buffets. Why must you tempt me?! Raw oysters are delicious but raw oysters from buffets make me cringe. I thought to myself, perhaps this time it'll actually be good. Nope. It needed to be chilled more. As far as actual entrees, I enjoyed the walnut shrimp and the salt & pepper shrimp. The quality of the shrimp was good and it had the proper texture. The Korean short ribs were too salty for my liking. Everything was pretty good but let me tell ya, the green tea ice cream is where it's at! I might have to hoard me a tub of this stuff. Yum! This is perfect for those who don't like their ice cream too sweet. It's a nice, refreshing flavor. Perfect way to end my gorging session. *10% off for Student, senior citizens and public officials. *Early bird special: Mon-Fri (3:45pm-5:30 pm), Sat-Sun (open-4pm)

This place is great ! I joined yelp just so I can share with others about this particular restaurant. First, the hostesses are very fashionable and classy. The overall setting is classy actually, for a buffet that is. Additionally the food is great; its not your fake Chinese/ Japanese food, but tastes like the real deal-- even the sushi (and I've been to Japan I would know). The people who said this place was dirty... i have no idea, they must be talking about the wrong koy wan? haha I told my boyfriend to take me there again within the same week. I highly recommend this place.

I feel obliged to post because I actually eat here unlike the sheep leaving one star reviews because a TV station said it was dirty with no basis or supporting information. I have never seen anything dirty in this restaurant. The sushi selection is very large and very high quality and the highlight is the fresh hibachi; it's way better than any other buffet hibachi. The Chinese dishes are good too, but obviously they sit in a warmer on the buffet so they're not piping hot (some reviews seem to forget this and compare to table service dining...). It's totally worth the price, they could charge more for the huge selection and fresh sushi/ hibachi.

Okay, so 5 stars is strictly in a "buffet" category in my book. I never go to buffet's unless they're worth my while and this one definitely is. They have all of the usual offerings: a nice sushi selection, a TON (probably an actual physical metric ton) of Chinese- the American version- food, the icky desserts, and then this amazing hibachi selection. I've had hibachi at all of the big $20 per plate restaurants and this is right with them. Except that what you put on your plate raw is exactly what you get back cooked, and on a new plate of course. I always try to monitor my carbs so this lets me do as much veg and protein as I'd like and just a smidgen of carbs. Yes, I know vegetables have carbohydrates but we all know I'm referring to the goodness that is pasta, rice, etc. I would, of course, move to the other side of Orlando as soon as I discovered this little gem, but you'd better believe I'll make the trip over there once in awhile for my affordable and cravingly-good hibachi experience.

BEST place to go for sushi! Their selection outclasses all of the other oriental buffets in town. The other food on the buffet is always good and the hibachi grill is one of best. Service is good and the magic show added to our fun for the evening. My only complaint and what keeps me from giving 5 stars is that not enough attention is paid to the cleanliness of the customer side buffet. Thanks to slobs and kids getting their own food, it was a mess.

This is my favorite Asian buffet in the area. It is in a little shopping center, but has a surprisingly beautiful interior. They have the typical dishes, a nice variety of desserts, and a really great sushi selection. They also have a hibachi where you can create your own rice or noodle dishes with various meat, seafood, and vegetable options. They apparently jack up the price on holidays, which is unfortunate. Otherwise, it's worth the trip.

Was hopeful for a good dinner but it became clear that was not going to be the case. The fried rice was mush, the hot and sour soup tasted like dish water and everything else was inferior to the other Chinese restaurants we frequent. I do not see another visit in our future. My wife also concurs that most of what she tried was not good to her either.

I mainly had sushi from that place, I mean it was not great but it was decent, lots of selections of sushi, for $7.49 lunch price, you can eat all that sushi, can't beat that! I still miss Crazy Buffet's Sashimi (This place used to be Crazy Buffet), I can eat sashimi any time and probably/definitely will get Mercury poisoning from it. But anyway.. Hostress at KoyWan was really friendly, our server was pretty cold and didn't smile bit! Hope she feels better today :) They also have some Chinese dish like Rice dumplings and some steamed Tilpia that my mom liked. Other than that, it was pretty your typical Buffet. But yeah, I'd go back again for sure for some sushi and rice dumplings. :) Nom Nom

After seeing a sign requesting 5 star reviews from customers in exchange for $5.00, I felt compelled to write a review of Koy Wan Hibachi Buffet. I unfortunately have to agree with Mimi that I was quite offended by Koy Wan's attempt to fabricate high reviews through essentially bribery. Why they do not take the $5.00 and instead invest it into their restaurant is beyond comprehension. While surely not a five star restaurant, I will attempt to give a fair review of the lunch buffet, which is the cuisine my 5-6 visits has been limited to. On each occasion I have visited during the week, Koy Wan is generally empty or half full at most for the lunch hour. Upon walking in you are greeted by a hostess who help you to your seat and take your drink orders, before releasing you to the buffet! They have all your typical restaurant drinks, i.e. coke, tea, water, in addition to a small selection of draft beers. The buffet consists of several sections . . . sushi, habachi, salad bar, chinese, american, and dessert. In the front is a fairly large selection of sushi, typically 15-20 different rolls. The rolls always seems fresh, most of the time they are being rolled right in front of you. However, with a buffet, who really knows how fresh it is (knock on wood I have never found myself getting sick). Next is the habachi area where you can load a plate with all your favorite vegetables, meat (pork, chicken, beef), and choice of rice or noodles, hand it to the chef who will habachi it up for you. They have some white sauce, but it seems to be a watery attempt at copying that found at Kobe. Beyond the habachi is a salad bar with plenty of dressings. The chinese portion of the buffet consists of everything you could find at a fast food chinese restaurant, such as lo mein, rice, sweet and sour chicken, sesame chicken, genal tso's, and the list could go on. The american area, as I like to call it, includes some fries and onion rings, chicken nuggets, ie things kids love. The desserts section has cakes, pies, and ice creme. Overall, Koy Wan is a reasonably priced buffet with a wide variety of food of decent quality. I find myself always hitting up the sushi bar and than selecting different options thereafter depending on my mood for the day, and finishing it off with some ok, not great, ice creme. I just wish they would (a) fix the soft serve ice creme machine and (b) work harder to earn quality reviews as opposed to gaming the system and paying for them!

I dont normally go to the north Orlando area but when I do I try to visit this buffet. They have a very nice sushi spread with decent sashimi during dinner. The buffet selection is good and the quality is better than your average chinese buffet. It is one of the few buffets that has kalbi beef ribs for dinner. I love kalbi ribs and that alone is worth the price of admission. Everything else is just gravy. So fast for a few days then make your way here and pig out. One more thing if you go between 4 and 530 it's earlybird dinner which is only 11 bucks. That seals the deal for me

The sushi portion of the buffet has a very impressive selection. A lot of typical Chinese food fare is also available. The lunch price is reasonable, so me and my friends come quite a bit!

came here on valentines day with the family and there was a good line waiting to be seated luckily brother man had a reservation. anyhow its your normal buffet ambient. i would say sashimi was worth it but everything else wore covered in salt i mean. sodium heaven from short ribs to craw fish so i stick with sashimi you cant f that up. at least our server was nice but bottom line to i wouldn't come here for the price or food. wouldnt recommend this place sorry.

Whenever we rarely stop by at the Longwood area for some reason, this buffet is usually our "to go to" over in this area. It's clear that the sushi and the grill are excellent, the sushi was delicious and the grill over the top! No exaggeration, it's family friendly and pretty clean. There was a variety of all sorts of yummy Asian foods. I loved how I could pick what I wanted, and I had a huge selection of stuff to take, like rice, noodles, chicken, beef, mushrooms, corn, and plenty of others. I could even pick sauces, which was really cool. The yummy sushi (especially the cream cheese filled rolls) and the great grill was excellent. The service was great as well. I enjoyed the atmosphere of the buffet.

I went there for the father's day special. They were offering lobster but when I messaged them in facebook asking about the lobster they said they were not going to have any. I asked why would they still promote it and they said they would fix that; they never did. Overall, the food was okay. I really like the korean ribs, buns, and mochi. The sushi was the best part, since they have a wide variety. However, $15 for the father day special was not worth it. They had crab legs instead but still crab legs are far from lobster and they shouldn't give false advertisement.

Food was better than usual Chinese buffets. Large sushi selection which had a lot of raw fish options instead of cream cheese filled rolls. This was a plus and they had a variety of sashimi! There were also a good amount of veggie sushi for my BF. Their biggest draw is their hibachi grills. Two separate grills. You pick your veggies and meat and a sauce. The hibachi chefs cook in front of you and then put the food on nice rectangular plates. I stick to the meats usually. There was "white sauce" aka yum yum sauce in a pump container. Please do yourself and the restaurant a favor and do NOT overload your plate. For one, you look tacky. Just put on your plate what you will actually eat. And two, you're being wasteful. The rest of the buffet was okay. There was a little bit more variety of Chinese food as opposed to Americanized food. But nothing too special. Crab legs were extra apparently according to the sign posted on the door. I think you have to order it separately. There was also a sign that said 2 hour limit for dining in. Pricing wasn't bad-$12.99 for dinner. Dessert was normal fare but they did have a mint mouse cup thing that was unique. Overall, stick with the sushi and hibachi if you want to get your money's worth. I would come back if I was in the area and craving sushi buffet but would not make a special trip. It feels like the quality had gone down a little since my last visit. Although restaurant was pretty with the water and semi-Japanese decor, all the signs just made it feel a little unwelcoming.

Koy Wan is a great place for tasty sushi! I am a sushi connoisseur, and this place has melt in your mouth sushi and sashimi alike. The interior of the restaurant is very clean, and neat. The "hot" food is okay, but they could amp it up some. All in all, great place for some sushi at an affordable cost.

We've been to a lot of buffets in different states and when I mean a lot, I mean over 500 of them. Anyhow, we stopped by here for lunch and let me tell you... the food was 10 out of 10 in the buffet world. They had a huge selection and the sushi section they didn't hold back! What made this even better was the bill. $20 for 2 adults! -and the service? Almost like a 3 star restaurant. Very attentive and good. They kept the drinks coming. No need to flag someone down and ask for a drink. Very happy we came here. Would definitely come back!

I've been to this location several times over the years, as they've changed management and names. Koy Wan no longer aims to be a premiere, upscale buffet, but they are certainly a notch above your typical Chinese buffet. There is a fairly wide selection of sushi, hibachi, chinese, and american foods, including crab legs and oysters (my personal faves). For under $15, you get a good meal.

Well, they have a good selection of sushi and other dishes that move quickly and are creative, I didn't leave with that alarming feeling in my gut and it's only around 10 bucks. How can you go wrong?! The only reason I can see for not going more often is A) it's a buffet and that's never a good thing to do to yourself and B) it's way out on 434 & 436. But still, as far as buffets go, this has to be the best one around. It used to be that 25 dollar crazy buffet thing, but they took out the filet mignon and added a hibachi grill and dropped the price in half. It's really a good deal and not as gross as your usual serve yourself type place. Please keep your children in their seats and mind the sneeze guards. Thanks.

ok the food tonight was pretty fresh and well stocked. my group found some of the desserts not to their liking. they need to be more selective in their choosing. The sushi area has a extreme selection of very tasty choices. This is in my neighborhood and I will return.

Located at the old Crazy Buffet location, Koy Wan has extremely great value with their huge selection of great sushi, chinese dishes, cooked to order hibachi, and seafood. For $10.95 for dinner, it doesn't get much better. Out of all the buffets I have been to, Koy Wan has the best selection and best tasting sushi. My first plate was stacked with their amazing sushi. There are two rolls that stood out to me: one with a spicy crab meat mayo mixture on top with fish roe, and one that was deep fried with a sweet sauce on it. Both were fantastic and went above and beyond my expectations for a sushi buffet. The hibachi was really tasty and I was pleasantly surprised(they even have all the hibachi sauces on the side for your convenience, YUM YUM SAUCE!). The quality of all the ingredients was very good! They also have whole blue crab, oysters, clams, crawfish, and other seafood dishes. Extremely huge variety and honestly this surpassed my expectation on all levels. The interior is basically the same exact as when it was Crazy Buffet. The quality of food is back up as it usually is when a new buffet opens and you slowly see that quality diminish over time. So, get here quick and take advantage! They don't have peking duck any more, but that's okay because their sushi is so much better now and for $10.95 I'd come back again and again for the sushi alone. For dessert, they have the typical buffet desserts. Premade miniature cupcakes and pastries that are bland and fattening. They also have ice cream! Green tea ice cream, chocolate, strawberry, vanilla, and mint chocolate chip! And of course, they have the thai donuts that are at every buffet as well! Overall, I'd say this is the best sushi buffet I've been to so far. The service is average but we don't go to buffets for the service, now do we? As long as the plates are cleared and my water is refilled, I am a happy camper! =D

Considering the NUMEROUS businesses that have come and gone at this establishment I'm rather surprised and delightfully glad that Koy Wan has maintained it's presence here. It's really a great deal for lunch at only $8 a person for AYCE sushi! Is the sushi out of this world amazing? No, of course not. But it's decent enough to warrant the price for the amount of goodies you get. Aside from the sushi you're presented with a hibachi grill as well as a full course Chinese buffet for those who aren't daring enough to try out the seafood. The hibachi cooks aren't as fancy or as showmans as those found in Kobe but they get the job done and done right! Food is always tasty and hits the spot for those craving a mosh posh of Asian foods. For those inclined for a dinner romp price only comes out to $11 a person which covers everything aforementioned! Will I be able to label this the world's greatest buffet? Not really but it sure is one for the books to those in search of an oasis for decent Chinese, sushi, and Japanese style hibachi!

I've never been a big fan of any kind of buffet, but my boyfriend has been dragging me around to them for years. I have to say, this was probably the best buffet I've ever been to. I loved the hibachi grill and the sushi buffet, they had a ton of selection and the sushi tasted fresh and delicious! All the food along the line looked fresh and good, will definitely be visiting here again.

My favorite spot for sushi. The guy who works the Hibachi always cooks my food right. I've heard of negative reviews, and I was going almost ever weekend with a friend of mine. I've never been sick after eating here, and that says a lot about a buffet. Love getting spicey salmon sushi of any kind. Then get a chicken or beef with shrimp hibachi usually with mushrooms and green peppers and noodles or rice. Waitstaff is always nice and even when it's busy they stay on top of cleaning away plates or refilling drinks.

This restaurant was spotted at the Chinese newspaper ad in tampa. We decided when we in Orlando we will visit them. I alway not a fan for buffet, but my wife like it. The restaurant is located in plaza corner. It is difficult to find if you looking Koy Wan, if you looking for buffet you will find it. The restaurant is open by Chinese owner. We came about 8pm and the restaurant will close at 10pm. They have Japanese sushi, Chinese cuisine and hot plate grill section. I am not calling it as hibachi since they are not. It almost like Mongolian plate. After the first dish we realize they have not refill their food. I realize that we are the last group of the customer as a clean up crew. I mean left over food clean up and finish them. With the way they running the business I am not recommending for any dinner at this place. I bet you the early bird got better food with refill their buffet table compare to actual dinner customer. In fact the dinner is actually $2 dollar extra and you have to clean up their dish and the left over. I recommended you should not come here after they have serve the lunch. They charge you more for the left over food. Doesn't make sense. The only reason they still got two star is their waiter give a good service. I was going to give them one star.

Good food with nice ambience. Lots of sushi option with sea food craw fish, and good dessert aswell. Simply loved it!

Meh.. Had a rude hostess but everyone else was nice. Some items were questionable as in being left out. Dessert was not worth the calories. If you have to go I would just stick to the grill and and select sushi and those sesame balls. Anything under the lamps is not worth the taste buds.

We had such a wonderful buffet dinner. The price of $12.99 for dinner, with a pound of crab legs only $4.99 extra, was very reasonable. The restaurant was clean, and the service was good. The quality, freshness, and selection of items was amazing. We had the crab legs, and the size and quality were huge. The sushi was so moist and flavorful, and there were over 30 different selections. Everything from the butter shrimp to the bbq spare ribs tasted delicious. There were so many choices that we couldn't even try half of them before we were too full to go on, so we will definitely be going back again soon.

This is one of my favorite Chinese Restaurants in the area. They have a large buffet, wide selection of fruits, an average salad bar, a great sushi bar and Hibachi which is why it earned 5 stars. You select your veggies and meats (chicken, steak or shrimp, or a combo), they cook it to order. They also have a wide variety of desserts and ice creams so come hungry. I love taking friends there because there are many options. The current manager was very receptive to a complaint. Some of the wait staff is great. Lunch is $7.99! The restaurant appears clean in the food areas. The sit down areas are passable. The bathrooms are nasty. I hate using them and my friend does as well. Last time, it was gross, I reported to staff, several hours later, it was still in the same state, this is typical, I should have asked for the manager.

First of all, you either are that person who LOVES buffets or hates them. I don't really love them. Typical mass produced food that is below mediocre quality. I have been blown away by some buffets in the past. This is not one of them. My biggest gripe would be how messy the buffet was. For Florida's largest Chinese buffet they need a person strictly keeping up w/ the buffet. There were remnants of other food in different food places. The signs didn't match what was there. It was a mess. The counters around the buffet area were a mess. 5 minutes and a wet towel would make it look a thousand times better. I tried the sushi and the chinese buffet. Nothing to write home about. I did not get to try the hibachi items but wasn't thrilled by the raw meat sitting on the outside of the buffet bar where everyone walks by. Typical chinese buffet. Ehhhhh.

Been here a few times seems like every time my wife and I eat here it gets worse, selection is not to shabby comparing to other buffets in Orlando but food is slim pickings and service was.....well let's say that when we were seated they sat us in the back is this where all the fat people sit furthest away from the buffet humm we asked to be seated in front room then we watched the patrons as they came in Nailed it! I hit it right on the head. Thin people in front heavy people in back unbelievable. My wife went to use the restroom when in the stall she came out there was a man employee getting cleaning supplies not once but twice. When we complained she said it was his first day and apologized. No excuse for that! We are done with this place.

Good choices of sushi for $11.00. Decent standard Chinese buffet other than the sushi. And of course simple hibachi grill that someone just flip your noodles and meat choices on a grill and says "soy sauce or no". And then hand you your food heated up in front of you. But boy do people think it's the 7th wonder of the world.

This place used to be pretty decent, but on my last visit... well... The toilets are reminiscent of a port-o-potty Nothing seems either hot or cold, just room temperature Half the things offered up are full of junk spilled over from other dishes allowing cross contamination Kids rarely supervised by parents (crawling around on the floor even) Humans! Control your young!

I was in town visiting and craving some Chinese food so we decided to try this place out. Though the buffet had some good dishes it was hard to eat comfortably seeing how dirty the establishment was. Old food on the line, dirty eating area and rude staff.

Absolutely the best buffet I have ever been to. Every chafing dish was being constantly being turned over. The sushi was being made fresh in front of you. I love this place and will return whenever I am in the area.

This place offers great value The sushi buffet they have is one of the best in the city for the price Hibachi is amazing What i liked about this place is how they have so many different Asian cuisines in the same place.... Having experience with Chinese cuisine i would say that the food is very authentic Today was my 2nd time there and would definitely be back

My boyfriend and I come here all the time, sometimes even with friends, we always enjoy the food here, but one thing we seem to have problems with is how rude some of the staff is. Just this past Saturday our friend never got his drink so we had to holler just to get two waitresses who saw us trying to get their attention to quit talking in the corner and get him a drink. Once one came over she was rude. On numerous occasions we try to get the staff's attention but their too busy on their phones. But, one staff member in particular named Chen has been our favorite. When we've had him he was always on top of things and was polite to everyone. Again, we come for the food, if it weren't for that they would be getting one star.

This place is great for lunch. If you're coming for dinner it's best to pass up. I was there on a Friday night and even though their sign says they close at 11.00 they started to break down at 9.30. We were unable to get our drink glasses refilled. We walked up to the Hibachi prep area and we noticed that the bins were empty. The chef saw that we were looking at empty bins and didn't say anything. We asked nicely to the cook about the bins being empty and he very rudely snapped saying it's coming! This is my usual place to go for during lunch and this was my first time and last there during dinner. I was highly disappointed with the level of service that we received tonight. The good thing is that the food is always good. They have some great sushi and a nice selection of items in their hibachi prep. The Chinese dishes that they have is always very good. It is one of the better Asian buffets around.

Standard asian fusion buffet with mainly Chinese dishes and sushi with a hibachi grill. The food quality as is expected for a buffet. It's definitely better than most asian buffets in the Orlando area, but I have never been a fan for the low cost buffets. Some of the sashimi fish were still frozen during dinner which was not a pleasant eating experience. The hibachi is pretty good and some of the Chinese dishes were ok. Definitely only come here once in a while because it gets boring quick. The servers are ok, nothing spectacular, as expected for a buffet.

If you are looking for all you can eat sushi this is your place... But if you want quality this is not it. The buffet was not good, the food was cold and dry. The salad portion was well stocked and not bad I was hoping for better after reading the reviews. If all your want is cheap sushi then this your place. But if you want more than that find someplace else.

This is my favorite Asian buffet in Central FL. You can't find better Sushi, hibachi, and Asian buffet items for the price. Decent beer selection and mixed drinks also. A variety of items at the buffet - encompassing Chinese, Japanese, and even Korean. It's also very clean. LOVE this place!!!

First and foremost I have to say that you should not trust any five star reviews you read of this place since they have signs all over the restaurant saying that they will pay you $5 for a five star review. If it were up to me, I wouldn't allow them to be on Yelp at all. As someone who puts a lot of time and thought into my reviews, I am offended by a place that is trying to game the system because it diminishes it for everyone. So what I would have called a two star place, becomes a one star in my book because they are cheaters. They are cheaters who serve up massive quantities of truly mediocre food. Usually when it comes to Asian buffets it's a hit or miss proposition and you are doing well if more items hit than miss. There was nothing I tasted here that had me going back for more yet there were many things I tasted and didn't finish because they were soggy (eggroll, rangoon), fatty and tough (beef ribs), odd consistency (crab), found a hair in it (dumpling) or just didn't like it (some marinated tuna thing). The rest was unremarkable. Yes, I realize it is cheap - and you get what you pay for. But usually I find a few really guilty pleasures on these buffets that satisfy. Marty thought his spare rib while fatty was OK. And there was a peanut chicken dish that he actually liked a lot. Otherwise he was underwhelmed as well. I didn't find anything guilt worthy. I do have lots of guilt for eating here, but there was nothing pleasurable about it.

The place itself is quite dirty, but the food quality and variety is above average Chinese buffets, including sashimi & sushi. They claim to be the largest in Florida. Food temperature, specially for the sushi & sashimi, wasn't quite right. But definitely a stop-by if you can't help yourself to that usual Asian-buffet-crave; if such exists. A neutral #recommend for this one.

sooo this place was before a go to...but after becoming a yelper...and read some mixed reviews about this place in the last years, it was a hard decision whether to give it a chance or not... i went for lunch with my cousins today, it was their first time, and mines in 3 years. let me clear up some stuff: NO i did NOT get a tummy ache nor did anyone in my party who went afterwards YES the sushi was okay, a good wide of choices YES the hibachi guy sucked, and had a "i want to go home face" NO, my server Jani Q was not rude but very sweet and nice YES the restrooms were unclean but common, alot of restaurant restrooms are usually not the perfect "powdering room" YES i was aware of the recent news about this place. but hey, if you do get sick, its a sign that not to come again. Yes, i believe a restaurant may improve after being listed for a negative thing. YES, i went on a weekday No, i did not even had the chance to browse the buffet area after the sushi area YES i will becoming back. :)

Large Chinese/Korean/Japanese buffet with a wide variety if soups, sushi, and Chinese/American dishes. It was my second time here, and I was less impressed the second time around. First time I was there for lunch, and the food was fresh, tasty, and more than enough to satisfy me. This time around, I went for dinner, paid twice as much as lunch and had exactly the same buffet options. At the dinner hour it really seemed like the freshness of the good had dissipated. The sushi was still great, but the heated dishes seemed like they'd been there all day. That being said, I'll still go back again when I'm in the area, and I'll stick to the won ton soup and sushi.

Food is good for a buffet... the sushi selection alone is worth the price of the buffet... standard desserts but the mint mousse was great !!!

The 15-20 different sushi displays are delicious. Be sure to take advantage of the hibachi grill, it's pretty tasty. The food is always fresh and tastes great, variety is the best.. The staff is the terrific; friendly and very visible. I will give a 5-star rating when the restroom is cleaned properly. I've been in there at the start of the day and it is always smelly and in need of a good cleaning.

This review is mostly based on to inform the people who actually care about eating in a clean..decent restaurant. This restaurant has been identified in the top 20 dirtiest restaurants in Central Florida from WFTV. Reference: wftv.com/news/news/local… I'm sure some of your thinking, so what? I'm not sure if you've seen what I've seen 'behind the scenes' in a lot of Asian/China Buffets and restaurants..PRETTY NASTY. Grease covered stoves, stained with food condiments, filthy walls, produce on the floors, very unorganized; bugs/spider webs in every corner..pretty much imagine your worst thought of what you think is a dirty restaurant and triple it. Just imagine what this restaurant is compared to what I've seen. (I often have to do a lot of repairs since I am in father's business and sometimes it leads to restaurants.) I'm not saying I have seen what's behind there, but if this is coming from a respectable source, and with my experiences. Eh. Just double think about what you're actually getting yourself into next time. On to the actual restaurant review: Sadly to say, I have eaten here once due to pressure from my brother. And I regret it ever since, food's not too bad..but the trip to the bathroom does afterwards. LOL

Eat to your hearts content! This little gold mined offers everything you would expect and then some from a buffet. Food quality and freshness is great and their sushi bar is enormous as well as delicious. I highly recommend ordering the 1lb snow crab legs only 4.99. If you like hibachi they offer more than enough to get creative. The price of admission more than reasonable. Atmosphere better than your normal buffet place and their staff is on point.

Food is good, sushi was better than I expected. My only complaint is their website has the dinner buffet advertised as $11.99, but was charged $12.99. When shown the ad no one at the restaurant had the authority to honor it and the manager was unreachable.

  • Beth M.

It was just okay. The sushi was pretty good, and there seemed to be a steady pace of replacing serving trays. The buffet of typical Chinese-American dishes was good and there were lots of options to choose from. The biggest downfall was the hibachi... The hibachi "chefs" seemed totally uninterested in their jobs, and the food reflected that. It just wasn't good. Overall, I'd say I got what I paid for ($11 for the early bird special), but I wasn't impressed enough to want to come back.

The best bang for your buck in Central Florida! Seriously the Sushi is just as good as any where else I have been and the hibachi is amazing! I rarely go and get the buffet Chinese food on the other side because I fill up on Sushi and hibachi! I know the cleanliness is in question, but honestly It is so yummy I can look past that!

I came here for a friend's birthday dinner with a group of about 20 people, adults and kids mixed. I used to come here when it was Crazy Buffet years ago. It looks exactly the same as it did then, just a different name. My husband and I were the first of the party to arrive. We waited at the bar and asked to order drinks. We were told they don't have a bartender, so no mixed drinks even though they are full liquor. I went with a glass of wine, and my husband a beer. Once seated with the party, the servers were very quick and attentive with our drink refills, they did okay with clearing the dirty plates. The buffet is good quality, but their star is the sushi. It's not phenomenal sushi by any means, but for an all you can eat buffet you won't find any better. They have a cook to order hibachi which I did not partake in. I feel hibachis are over rated in general. I attribute this to every member of my family choosing Kobe for their birthday dinners for 10 years straight. All in all you get your bang for your buck. One funny observation - they have name tags over most of their food, and they had a pan labled fried scallops. I've never seen a scallop wtih a tail! They were fired shrimp.

The sushi buffet they have is great for the price . This is the main thing we eat when we go. Hibachi is wonderful too, being the other reason we go here. The rest of it is sort of iffy, nothing special (but sometimes there is good fish). Considering the sushi and hibachi, there really isn't anything else I would want anyway so it works for me. Service is always friendly, areas are always clean. My only complaint would actually be other customers. We go here at least once a month and there is always some rude customer making a mess, but I can't hold that against Koy Wan.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
